Google to Launch Wearable SDK in 2 Weeks

Google is throwing some love to wearable devices. Developers who target these devices will now be getting an SDK as Android widens its reach beyond mobile phones and tablets.

“In two weeks we are launching the first developer SDK for Android,” Sundar Pichai Google’s senior VP of Android, Chrome and Apps. “That will lay out the vision for developers in how we see this market working.”

Android is also receiving significant attention as a car infotainment system. To encourage development of apps that could be utilized together with sensors in the car, Google wants to release an API targetting these sensors.
