Asus Leads Market Share for Hybrid Devices in EMEA


Asus shipped 2.1 million hybrid devices in Q1 2014 growing its market share to 9.3% in the EMEA region. After reading the tea-leaves in this segment, Gartner magicians ruled that Asus was supreme leader in the hybrid device market. The device maker’s success has greatly been due to Transformer T100, the company’s flagship hybrid device. In the Padfone mini, the company combines a 4-inch phone and a 7-inch tablet all in the same gadget.

The Padfone gets to the Kenyan market in Q2 2014 and should hit other parts of the region in the near future. Asus Kenya boss emphasizes the company’s need to capitalize on the region’s appetite for hybrid devices.
