When your product is hot, you don’t launch it in a hotel, boardroom or some building’s hall, you take it to the sky for everyone to see. Pace, the Kenyan startup that brought us the Pace Focus Bluetooth headphones that we so much loved, launched their second product, barely three months after the launch of their first product, and they went all out.
The company in collaboration with Skyward Express, a Kenyan domestic airline, launched a new set of Bluetooth earphones dubbed Pace Mate mid-flight, to the amusement of the airline passengers. The launch happened during a Morning flight from Nairobi to Eldoret and an afternoon flight from Nairobi to Mombasa where they [Pace] gave complimentary sets of earphones to the crew and passengers aboard these flights.
Well, the fancy launch aside, let’s take a quick look at the product. Pace Mate are Bluetooth earphones that according to the company were designed for music on the move. Pace says that the Mate earphones are light, portable and convenient to carry around. The Pace Mate are in-ear neckband-style earphones, have a battery life of around 11 hours of music playback, include 3 buttons for music controls and the earbuds have a magnet on the back to hold them firmly together when they are not in your ear.
In the box, you will get:
- The earphones in either red or black
- Carry bag
- Interchangeable shark-fin tips
- Pace acknowledgement cards
- USB Charging cable
We have a pair in for review and first impressions are outstanding. The earphones sound really good and despite them lacking active noise cancellation, they manage to block out most of the environmental noise when you’re playing music. The sound? It’s what we have come to love about Pace.
The Pace Mate earphones retail for Ksh.3800 online at keeppace.net or by calling +254743944668
