Itel’s latest smartphone, the S32 LTE has just hit the market with emphasis on its 4G LTE capabilities but still packing the camera specs of the first Itel S32. This new version of the S32, not only brings fast internet connectivity but it makes a great addition to the selfie-centric S series.
Inside the box, you get :
- USB cable
- Wall charger head
- Earphones
- A battery
- A user manual
- A back case
Design
The phone is designed with a faux Aluminium-alloy and poly-carbonate cover body with the fingerprint sensor at the back. A line separates the fingerprint sensor with the camera and the LED flash. The back is a fingerprint magnet and the plastic back cover provide in the box will keep them off. A plastic screen protector covers the screen against scratches maintaining it’s aesthetics.
The phone spots a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 by 720. On the lower bezel, it houses three physical navigation dots that sadly aren’t back lit.
Storage and RAM
The Itel S32 LTE packs an internal storage of 16GB similar to the non-LTE version. On the bright side, its RAM was boosted to 2GB. The phone is powered by Android 7.0 Nougat and is run by MediaTek 6572 chipset. Good thing is that Itel included a slot for expandable storage upgradable to 64GB if you want to boost the internal memory. You don’t have to sacrifice the second sim slot to place your memory card as the phone comes with three dedicated slots to serve their exact purposes.
The Cameras
The front-facing cameras include the dual 8MP selfie camera and 2MP wide angle lens for group selfies. This dual setup looks promising and we’ll dig deeper in our full review. The rear camera spots an 8MP lens with an LED flash. Itel has incorporated live filters and social media buttons to quickly share them online.
Battery
The device is powered by a removable 3000mAh battery and we’ll see how it performs in our full review. The phone charges via a USB port found at the bottom.
Connectivity
It has all the regular connections and network specs such as Bluetooth and WiFi. One thing that separates it from the first S32 is that this one supports 4G LTE with VoLTE (Voice over LTE). In our full review, we will see how it works and if it supports Faiba4G by JTL. Audio is handled by the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and loudspeakers on the bottom.
Price and Availability
The phone is available locally and will cost you Ksh 13,500. You can buy it at all Itel shops across Kenya such as 3C Hub, Moi Avenue and Ronald Ngala and ART on Moi Avenue in Nairobi.
