Yeah, this might not be the best time to unfollow someone on Twitter as this bug on Twitter will notify them that you unfollowed them. It is going to get awkward especially if you are mutual friends on the social media platform.
Twitter only notifies you when you get a new follower or followers but doesn’t let you know when someone unfollowed you – you can only check this using third party twitter analytics services and this bug is about to end their careers, lol.
If you get unfollowed, the user you just unfollowed got a message that someone recently unfollowed them. Some users then unfollow said users and get the same message.
A spokesperson told Vice that they’re working on a fix.
