The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams for this year commenced early last month by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). They started on November 4th and ended on November 27th.

Thanks to the new regime, exam papers are marked quite quickly and today, the government announced that they will announce the results of the KCSE 2019 examinations today. This means that both KCPE and KCSE candidates will get to receive their results before the holidays. Last year, the results were released on December 21st.

This year, a total of 26,597 teachers marked the examinations in 20 stations. KCSE 2019 exercise was done in 10,287 centres across the country with a total of 699,745 candidates participating.

There are two ways of getting your results. There is the KNEC portal where you can get your online result slip, but due to traffic, it could be difficult. The fastest and easiest way is via SMS and telcos love it because they get to earn a lot of money from it.

All you have to do is go to your SMS app, enter the index number and send it to 20076. This is all done on either Safaricom, Airtel or Telkom and they usually charge 25 KES per SMS, so make sure you get the details right.

A key thing to note is that these services are usually available when the results are announced by the Cabinet Secretary of Education so you’ll have to time wisely before the system is hit with a ton of requests. In some cases, the results take a while to be delivered to your phone but I bet they have optimized their platform well this time round.

  1. This time our cabinet secretary, has tried,he is a workaholic man,but I cannot believe that the results are genuine. The Pace that he is driving teachers with will make the results not to be genuine. He should know that if he destroys the life of the students, he will pay here on earth.God is for another chance.

  2. Personally i like the old marking system. The new regime is fastened unfortunately. The wise said hurry hurry has no blessing. I think its time the CS pondered on that

  3. I think CS Magoha is just trying to break Dr Fred Matiangis record to make us happy not knowing the results might not be genuine,,,,,

  4. Everyone in the office wants to outshine another in any way, this is not right. I’m persuaded to believe these results were not genuine. All I know is no one can outshine a diversified student minds. You try this they come with another alternative. All I know is the only year the results were genuine was 2016.

  5. Comment:that was wrong indeed! because knec’s marking scheme did not favour most candidates countrywide
