It’s a new month and Huawei brought a fresh update to the Huawei Nova 5T. The Huawei Nova 5T which recently launched in Kenya just received Google’s latest mobile operating system, Android 10 via EMUI 10 update this morning. For those wondering how the Huawei Nova 5T still has access to Google apps and services, the phone is a rebranded Honor 20 with changes internally and externally. The Honor 20 was released way before the Huawei Trade ban by the U.S. Government. The Honor 20 was in line to get EMUI 10 and Android 10 and that’s how the Huawei Nova 5T got the update.
With EMUI 10 update, you get refreshed app icons that are now rounder and animated. There’s the system-wide dark mode that not only works on system apps but extends to third-party apps.
The overall update brings other UI/UX changes and new features from both Android 10 and EMUI 10 such as a revamped UI, a redesigned Quick Settings panel, redesigned Camera interface, and a simplified Settings Menu.
Another thing you’re getting is the December security update that will ensure your phone will be secure. Hopefully, the January security update rolls out soon enough.
The EMUI 10/Android 10 update is now rolling out to the Huawei Nova 5T in the country. If you’ve already bought the phone, download the update by going to Settings, scroll down to System and Update and click the Software Update. The phone will automatically start checking for any software update and will begin downloading.
You can also navigate to the Huawei HiCare ap to trigger the update.
The Huawei Nova 5T joins the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 that just got the Android 10/EMUI 10 updates in Kenya and are among the best phones to buy right now early this year with the Android 10 update or are slated to get it very soon.
The Huawei Nova 5T goes for Ksh 41,999 and you can buy in Huawei’s official and branded retail shops countrywide including the recently opened Experience centre in Sarit centre in Nairobi.
Huawei has also partnered with Lipa Later to offer affordable financing plans to purchase the Huawei Nova 5T and other Huawei devices and accessories.
