huawei y9 prime 2019Huawei is on a roll releasing new software and making hardware announcements their ongoing annnual developer conference. They recently announced their new operating system, Harmony OS and now they’ve officially announced EMUI 10. Emotion UI is Huawei’s user interface build on Android and EMUI 10 is based on Android Q.

We’ve seen previews of EMUI 10 while it was still in development and it looked impressive. The early launch of EMUI 10 is so as to safeguard Huawei’s future devices as the temporary reprieve it was granted after the Trade ban comes to an end on the 19th this month. Even though US companies can now trade with Huawei, the Chinese tech giant is still awaiting official communication that will see them continue using Google’s Android.

EMUI 10 offers a freshly designed interface such as more rounded icons and animations. Just like Android Q’s system-wide dark mode, EMUI also comes with it.

EMUI 10 also comes with Huawei’s improved EROFS file system and GPU Turbo 3.0 promises fast performance when you’re either multitasking or gaming.

During the announcement, Huawei showcased Multi-screen collaboration on EMUI 10 tat allows for linking phones with desktop computers wirelessly to mirror your phone’s screen to the computer.

This will let users access their phone files or respond to messages from the computer.

The Rollout

The Mate 30 will be the first Huawei device to launch with EMUI 10 already baked in. EMUI 10 will also be available to P30 series owners starting Septemeber 8th.
