Huawei Kenya is now selling their wireless earphones, the Freebuds 3 which feature noise cancellation at their Sarit Center brand store.
The company says that the Freebuds 3 will retail for Kshs 20,999 which puts them firmly in the premium wireless earphone segment in Kenya.
The design is quite similar to Apple’s AirPods and has some features that rival what you find in the AirPods and mimics what you get with the AirPod Pros. Huawei claims they are comfortable to wear and their open fit design will not add extra pressure to your ear.
The Huawei Freebuds 3 are powered with their own Kirin A1 chip which features Bluetooth 5.1, promise fast and stable Bluetooth connection as well as offering what Huawei calls a “class-leading audio processor.”
The Freebuds 3 also feature active noise cancellation which optimizes in real-time canceling background noise at it changes. Active noise cancellation is great for a number of scenarios where you’d want some peace and quiet, like canceling a plane’s engine noise or when you’re in a loud public service vehicle like a matatu. You can even adjust the active noise cancellation effect using the AI Life App that you can download.
It also has unexpected but cool features like a bone voice sensor that picks your voice through bone vibrations so that your voice can be enhanced. It also has instant pairing when you pop up the carrying case.
You can control the active noise cancellation or your music by tapping on the earbuds. Double-tap the right to play or switch music or the left bud to turn on or off the active noise cancellation. When you take an earbud off, playback pauses and resumes when you put it back in.
Huawei promises 4 hours of playback on a single charge while 20 hours of total playback with the charging case. The charging case can be charged via USB C or wirelessly either through your wireless charging mat or via reverse wireless charging on select phones like some Huawei top-end smartphones.
