vivo, the Chinese smartphone giant has today announced that their camera focused V20 smartphone is now available in Kenya.
“vivo always innovates with the consumer in mind. Guided by our deep insights into consumer needs, we developed the V20 to provide leading camera technology packed in a sleek, but affordable, device,” said vivo Kenya Brand Manager Mr. James Irungu.
The headlining feature of the V20 is its insane 44MP selfie camera which is one of the highest resolution selfie cameras we’ve come across. vivo says it has “advanced AI algorithms to track and focus on moving objects” and can also sharpens photo and videos on the fly. It can also shoot 4K videos which is a feature that we see in current or past flagship smartphones.
The primary camera system is also not too shabby. There is a main 4MP camera with an 8MP ultrawide camera and an extra 2MP camera. vivo says this camera system features Super Night Mode on the main lens for taking those great night mode shots on a tripod. You can also shoot “Dual view video” where you can take selfie and main camera videos simultaneously.
The rest of the V20 features are also pretty good for the price. There is a 6.44 inch 2400 x 1080 Super AMOLED display. It runs on the Snapdragon 720G which is an upper midrange SoC from Qualcomm. It has 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The phone also has a 4000mAh battery that can be quickly charged using a 33W charger. It also has USB C port, Bluetooth 5.1 and ships with Android 11 which is swell.
The vivo V20 will retail for Kshs 45,999 in Kenya and will be available in two colours (midnight jazz and sunset melody) countrywide.
