Apple is adding two necessary features in the latest iOS 15.4 beta build 1 and they are going to come in handy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Apple is updating its Face ID by adding support to unlock your phone while wearing a face mask. The new setting will allow people to use Face ID while wearing a mask by recognizing the unique features around the eyes to authenticate.
On the same build, Apple is also adding the ability for Face ID to work with people who wear glasses and a mask at the same time.
It’s worth noting that sunglasses aren’t supported.
If you wear both a mask and regular glasses, then you’ll find these features pretty handy.
Apple adds that you won’t need to wear a mask during setup. Simply go to your iPhone Settings, scroll to Face ID & Passcode and select Use Face ID with a mask.
You won’t even need your Apple Watch to unlock your phone.
People already running the beta are loving this new update.
