Deezer wants you to dig deeper in your pockets to continue to enjoy using the streaming platform.
Deezer is notifying subscribers in their free tier that they’re ending Deezer Free on the 19th of April.
This tier plays ads in between songs and to upgrade, you have to switch to either the Deezer Family or Deezer Premium plans.
The two paid subscription plans allow for offline listening, Hi-Fi sound and ad-free music.
Deezer Family allows you to add 6 accounts with simultaneous listening on multiple devices. You’ll be charged Sh547 for this plan (with a one-month free trial)
Deezer Premium lets you play any track ad-free and offline streaming for Ksh 547 too.
Supported payment options in Kenya include PayPal, Visa/Mastercard, MPESA, Airtel Money or even Equitel.
Sadly, the Student plan isn’t available in the country.
Spotify still has its free plan with ads in between. Subscriptions for its Premium plan start at Ksh 299 per month. Premium Duo plan starts at Ksh 389 and Premium Family starts at Ksh 479 for a family of six.
Payment plans include Credit/debit card, PayPal or MPESA.
Apple Music has no free plan. Its Premium plans for students, individuals, and Family start from Ksh 163, Ksh 327, and Ksh 547 respectively.
Boomplay has a free plan and its premium plan starts at Ksh 199.
