WhatsApp has finally caught up with other messaging platforms and has increased the file limit. You can now share large files up to 2GB.
WhatsApp is also planning to increase the emoji message reactions from Thanks, Sad, Surprised, Like, Laugh and Love to include all emojis and skin tones.
The emoji message reactions are also rolling out to WhatsApp groups.
WhatsApp is also increasing the number of people allowed in group chat video calls to 32 now with a dedicated button.
Group Admins can now delete a message sent by any member for all users.
The headline feature WhatsApp announced is Communities – a new feature that will make it easier to manage several related groups.
“That way people can receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them,” WhatsApp says.
“Communities will also contain powerful new tools for admins, including announcement messages that are sent to everyone and control over which groups can be included,” WhatsApp continues.
WhatsApp didn’t give a clear timeline of when these features should be expected but like tradition, Beta users will get access first before rolling out publicly.
