Equity Bank is rolling out Equity Online days after officially commissioning Equity EVA (Equity Virtual Assistant) chatbots to replace EazzyNet. Equity Virtual Assistant chatbots offer both digital banking and customer support services to more than 9 million Equity bank customers.
Customers can manage their accounts on EVA and perform transactions like money transfers, airtime purchases, and viewing account balances. To engage EVA, users can initiate a chat(conversation) via any platform of their choice between Whatsapp, Facebook, and Telegram.
The platform was officially commissioned during the release of Q1 2022 results in May 2022. However, EVA has been available on Whatsapp for a while before the official commissioning. The company’s CEO and MD Dr. James Mwangi reiterated that Equity Bank will keep investing in technology and products that are designed to give its customers more freedom of choice, ease of access, convenience, and control.
He says, “We are more than a bank, we are an enabler of lifestyle, fulfilling the needs and aspirations of our customers and communities. The launch of Equity Virtual Assistant, EVA, is in line with our journey to make our services and products available virtually and online.”
EVA chatbot runs on artificial intelligence and robust machine learning models. This will enable ‘her’ to learn and evolve in order to respond to customers’ inquiries.
