Kenyan independent R&B singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor Otile Brown(real name Jacob Obunga) is the new Chief Creative Officer and Brand Ambassador for the upcoming TECNO Camon 19 series. The smartphone company unveiled him at a pre-order launch event held earlier today.

TECNO says that the award-winning musician will be part of the team and will bring his unique creative ways by creating a song for the Camon 19 series and giving inspiration for the device’s design. In a statement shared with us, TECNO says that the music quality of the device has improved compared to its predecessor, Camon 18 series thanks to Otile’s inspiration. We’ll be the judge for that so stay tuned for our upcoming reviews and related coverage.

Otile Brown is currently cooking a song for the upcoming TECNO Camon 19 series and it will be available on the device as a ringtone.

“TECNO’s brand vision “Stop at Nothing” is a spirit I believe in. I want to be associated with the brand ethos and create a memorable song to inspire its audiences’ Camon 19 stylish look,” said Otile Brown.

“As TECNO Mobile, Otile Brown’s diverse creative talent and how he connects with his audience made him a great match for the Camon 19 series. He is a natural choice for our brand and we are happy to have partnered up with Otile in Kenya. This presents a unique opportunity for us to come together and create something exceptional, ” said Peter Shi, TECNO Mobile Kenya Brand Manager.

Now official.

The upcoming TECNO Camon 19 series has already scooped several awards ahead of its launch in the country including the iF Design Award 2022 in the product and telecommunication categories for its product design and the MUSE Design Award for Product Design Silver award for its exceptional craftsmanship.

TECNO is bringing three versions of the Camon 19 series including the regular Camon 19 and the Camon 19 Pro. Tagging along the three will be the TECNO Camon 19 Pro 5G. Early this year we reported that the smartphone company will be bringing 5G devices in the Camon and Phantom lineup. This was during the launch of their flagship store at Sarit Centre in Nairobi.

TECNO kept the promise and will be unveiling the Camon 19 Pro 5G later this month.

TECNO Camon 19 series is being marketed for its portrait-taking features which we will check out in our future reviews.

The phone comes with ultra-narrow frame designs and a dual ring triple camera setup. It also packs more than enough RAM and supports additional virtual RAM.

How to Pre-order TECNO Camon 19 Series Smartphones

The TECNO Camon 19 series smartphones are up for pre-order. Here’s how to get started:

  • Deposit Ksh 2000 at any of TECNO’s official retail stores countrywide, Safaricom’s official retail shop and online at Masoko, Jumia and Kilimall
  • Pre-order Hamper includes an exclusive package worth Ksh 7000 and includes TECNO earbuds and one backpack.

The pre-order period opens up today until the 20th of June.

Launch and Price Details

TECNO didn’t share pricing for the TECNO Camon 19 series smartphones during the briefing but shared that the launch is scheduled for 20th of this month.

Stay tuned for our full reviews and related coverage.
