TECNO, a sub-brand of the listed Transsion Group, has been doing very well in emerging markets. It identified a niche that needed to be addressed and did so adeptly by releasing phones meant for people who do not have big budgets or high purchasing power as we have seen in developed nations.
However, the success of TECNO has been long because it started this journey a lot of time ago with feature phones. The technology company has now grown past that and competes with market leaders such as Samsung following the growth in the quality of its products.
It also makes accessories that are meant to complement its smartphones, although we are yet to see the organization shift into Home Entertainment products (it, however, has some smart home products) as its rival Infinix, which has such products, including Infinix TVs.
This post, however, is not about TECNO’s journey, but what it has managed to do in the recent past, and the accolades it has received thanks to its hard work. It has since won the “Most Innovative Mobile Phone Manufacturing Brand in Asia” award, which marks TECNO’s success in its global re-branding campaign to build TECNO as an “Innovative Technology Brand” from 2021.
To note, the Global Brand Awards is an annual event held by Global Brands Magazine (GBM), an international publication headquartered in the UK. The Awards aim to recognize and reward companies and titans of the industry for their exceptional performances. TECNO Mobile was evaluated based on innovation, strategic relationships, and new business development.
TECNO lauds itself as an innovative technology brand with operations in over 70 markets globally and changing consumers’ digital experience in global emerging markets. Industry statistics show that TECNO is quickly developing in target markets with its tech value and aesthetic value through its innovations with smartphones, smart wearables, laptops, tablets, HiOS systems and smart home products.
