Today, Lenovo has officially released their new Legion 9i, the first 16-inch gaming laptop in Lenovo Legion’s lineup with a self-contained liquid-cooling system. The Legion 9i is expected to hit the market in October and will be retailing for a staggering price of $4399, Yeesh!
“The introduction of the Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 8) marks the latest pinnacle of Lenovo Legion’s gaming laptop innovation. The Lenovo Legion 9i is first laptop in the Lenovo Legion ecosystem with an integrated liquid-cooling system and hardware AI chip tuning,” said Jun Ouyang, Lenovo’s vice president and general manager of the Consumer Business Segment, Intelligent Devices Group.
The 2023 Lenovo Legion redefines the whole premium class of gaming laptops by not only introducing new technologies but also improving on old features to provide gamers with what in paper seems like the best gaming laptop in the world.
Stay Cool Even Under The Most Grueling Of Gaming Sessions
Cooling is by far where the most exciting and outstanding change in the 2023 Legion 9i. The laptop deviates from traditional air-cooling systems and comes with a newly designed self-contained liquid-cooling system in its place.
Liquid cooling more “efficiently distributes heat over more convection surface area (radiator) than pure conduction, allowing for reduced fan speeds (better acoustics) and higher total power.” In other words, it’s more efficient, and often quieter.
Its worth noting that liquid cooling isn’t exactly a new concept for laptops. Laptops like the XMG NEO 16 and the Cyber PowerPC Tracer VII Edge-117E have already implemented water-cooling but unlike the legion their cooling systems are external.
Lenovo have stated that their Cold front integrated liquid-cooling system will allow the Lenovo Legion 9i to put out a maximum of 230W TDP.
Additionally, the Legion 9i comes with a AI-tuned, triple-fan air-cooling system with 6,333 individual intake vents which when paired with the liquid-cooling system stays keeps the the laptop cool even under the most grueling of gaming sessions.
Unique Forged Carbon fiber Cover Pattern
To accommodate the added weight of the custom liquid-cooling system, Lenovo engineers had to design an innovative new A-cover made from forged carbon chips that not only saves weight, but due to the forging process means that every Lenovo Legion 9i has its own unique forged carbon chip pattern on the A-cover.
Accelerate Your With The Most Powerful Mobile CPU And GPU In The Market
The hardware in this laptop is just ridiculous. The 2023 Legion 9i comes equipped with a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13980HX processor and up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 Laptop GPU. Additionally, the laptop comes with either 64GB Overclocked 5600Mhz Dual Channel DDR5 RAM or a blazingly fast 32GB Overclocked 6400Mhz DDR5 Dual Channel RAM. Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra settings with raytracing enabled would be a breeze for this beast.
Breathtakingly Huge, Crisp Visuals For Both Gamers And Content Creators
The display is Lenovo’s PureSight 3.2K Mini-LED 16:10 Display with 165Hz variable refresh rate. Creators can switch between DCI-P3 and sRBG color spaces in the pre-installed X-Rite software thanks to per-unit factory color calibration of the display. The 94% screen-to-body Mini-LED display provides breathtakingly huge, crisp visuals for both gamers and content creators alike.
Flashy Gamer Aesthetics
Just like previous models, the 2023 Lenovo comes with the Legion Spectrum RGB present in strips around the keyboard and bottom covers, on the top cover’s. Additionally, the laptop per-key RGB Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard adds to its already excellent gamer aesthetics.
