The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a shutdown of its prepaid vending system. The system will be unavailable for about 5 hours tonight.
KPLC statement stated the shutdown is due to “essential maintenance”. Crucially, Kenyans should take note the shutdown will be from Saturday at 11:50 PM to Sunday to September 10th, 2023, at 5:00 AM.
Due to this, purchasing electricity tokens via prepaid PayBill number 888880 or Airtel Money will be impossible. Hence, it is advisable you check on your electricity tokens and load them in advance if needed.
