From today, PayPal and Venmo clients can integrate their cards with Apple Wallet. The integration is for both Credit and Debit cards. This makes it possible for Apple device users to make digital purchases using Apple Pay.
The integration will also facilitate PayPal or Venmo payments for in-store purchases using Touch or Face ID on an iPhone or Apple Watch.
Integration Via Apple Wallet App
Adding the two platforms to the wallet is the same process as other cards. This is by opening the Apple Wallet app and tapping the plus ( +) button. Secondly, select the “Add Debit or Credit Card” option.
Cards can then be scanned or card details entered manually.
Integration is only via the Apple Wallet app for now. In the coming months, PayPal and Venmo apps will also allow users to carry out the integration.
Cashback and Rewards
Importantly, PayPal notes that users will continue earning their cashback and rewards. When making payments with Apple Pay, users can earn 2% on purchases with the PayPal Cashback Credit Card.
Also, users earn PayPal rewards points when shopping with the PayPal Debit Card and redeem them for cash back or other rewards. Lastly, users earn cashback when making purchases with the Venmo Debit Card at participating businesses.
This is more good news from PayPal who recently launched tap-to-pay feature on both iOS and Android.
