Finally, candidates who received their results for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), can now know the secondary school they have been selected to join in January 2024. This is after the Education CS, Ezekiel Machogu, announced the Form 1 placement results earlier today.
In November, CS Machogu stated that the form one placement would be done before Christmas to give parents ample time to plan and PrepAway.
Now, with the exercise concluded, over 1 million candidates who sat for the 2023 KCPE exams can get their placement results. According to the ministry, 42,927 candidates are expected to join national schools.
How to check 2024 Form 1 placement results
You can check your 2024 Form 1 placement results through SMS or online.
To check the placement results through SMS, follow the following steps:
- Open your phone messages app.
- Type in the KCPE index number.
- Send text to 22263.
- You should get your placement results.
Note that this is applicable across all mobile networks and costs KES. 25 per SMS.
You can also use the official Ministry of Education website which will direct you to the Form 1 selection page where to access the placement results. Alternatively, you can also visit the Form 1 selection page on the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) website.
Despite the site missing some key security features including a valid certificate, the CS argues that the KEMIS website has been tested, proven and is 100% accurate.
