Redmi Note 13 Series: Five Reasons Why You Need to Upgrade

Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus

Xiaomi plans to launch the new Redmi Note 13 series in the country later this week and the new smartphones will be the company’s latest midrange lineup to start the year.

Redmi Note 13 series will succeed the Note 12 series from last year and comes packed with new features that will make you want to switch.

Here are the upgrades you should look forward to seeing in the Note 13 series.

New Cameras

The whole lineup gets new cameras. The base Note 13 gets a new 108MP main while the Pro and the Pro+ get the 200MP main with OIS. The complementary cameras stay the same featuring a 2MP macro and an 8MP ultrawide.

The selfie cameras stay the same across the board as you get a 16Mp front-facing camera. All the primary cameras can shoot up to 4K video while selfie videos are capped at 1080p.

New Design

The Note 13 series will now feature under-display fingerprint readers across the board including the base model. They’ll have stereo speakers, IP54 and IP68 ingress protection, an aluminium frame, and a glass back for the Pros.

Faster Processors

The whole lineup gets new processors – ranging from the Snapdragon 685 and Dimensity 6080 chipsets of the base model to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2  and Dimensaity 7200 Ultra of the Pro and Pro+ models respectively.

RAM and storage options get increased from 6GB to 8GB with the Pros going all the way to 16GB and 256GB storage(UFS 3.1)

The Note 13 series will come with Android 13 and MIUi 14.

Brighter Screens

The screens get brighter as well up to 1800 nits with upgraded resolutions and protections – Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Victus with up to 1220 by 2712 pixel resolution.

The new screen also supports more colours as they include both 10-bit and 12-bit displays tat can support up to 10 billion colours and 68 billion colours respectively for the base and Pro models.

Bigger Batteries

While the base model will have a 5000mAh battery and support for 33W fast charging, the Pros get bigger batteries with a capacity of 5100mAh that support 67W fast charging.

Pricing and Launch Details

Xiaomi has slated 10th February as the official date for the Kenyan launch and pricing details will be shared at the launch as well.

Giveaway Details

Xiaomi has also this week announce that it will be running a campaign from today till the launch date where they will be giving away some of the products including a ticket to the launch event.

To participate, you’ll have to head to their social media pages for the daily giveaways.
