It’s worth mentioning that the Note 13 Pro screen is 12-bit which means it supports 68B colours as opposed to the 10-bit screen of the Note 12 Pro that can show up to 1B colours.

The screen gets better protection as its sports Gorilla Glass Victus over Gorilla Glass 5 of the 12 Pro.

The Pro gets a new processor – the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 which is relatively powerful compared to the Dimensity 1080 chipset of its predecessors. RAM starts at 8GB going all the way to 16GB and storage starts at 128GB going all the way to 512GB. There’s no slot for an external microSD card.

Redmi 13C – Ksh 17,500

While the Redmi 13C weighs just like its predecessor, Xiaomi changed a few things including a design revamp.

The front boasts a 6.74″ LCD screen sporting 720p resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate(the Redmi 12C came with the standard 60Hz) and brightness peaking at 600 nits. It also has Gorilla Glass protection.

The matte back makes it look stunning as it hides smudges and fingerprints – which is handy since the phone doesn’t come with a case included in the box. However, the camera island is glossy.

Redmi 13C features a flat design and Xiaomi moved the fingerprint reader from the back to the side which is pretty welcome.

For cameras, we get a 50MP triple rear setup which also includes a 2MP macro and a depth sensor. Selfies are taken care of by the 8MP front-facing camera – an improvement over the 5MP selfie camera of the Redmi 12C. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps for both cameras.

Powering the phone is a MediaTek Helio G85 with RAM and storage options starting from 4GB and 128GB respectively – going all the way to 8GB and 256GB. Running things around are Android 13 and MIUI 14.

You also get a headphone jack and an 18W Type-C charging port – an improvement over the 10W micro-USB port that came with the Redmi 12C. Xiaomi Redmi 13C comes with a 5000mAh battery.
