Flutterwave now has new executives. The African payments technology company has appointed a new chairman and non-executive director.
Flutterwave which was launched in 2016 and through its APIs, builds customizable payments applications for businesses across 34 African countries. They process payments via multiple payment modes, including local and international cards, mobile wallets, bank transfers, and Google Pay.
The San Francisco and Lagos-based fintech startup has appointed former CBN director, Dipo Fatokun as the chairman of Flutterwave Technologies Solutions Limited. Mr Fatokun has 30 years in the private and public sectors of the fintech industry spread across management, banking, strategy, finance, advisory and leadership.
He has overseen key initiatives like the Cashless Nigeria Initiative, the Bank Verification Number project, and the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for the Federal Government and automating the foreign currency payments for the Central Bank’s internal and external customers.

Tosin Faniro-Dada also joins the Flutterwave board as an independent non-executive director. She has over 17 years in the finance sector focussing on investment management and corporate banking.
Her career started with auditing mutual and private equity funds at PwC in Boston. Now a Partner at Breega, one of the fastest-growing early-stage VC funds in Europe and Africa, she supports founders in solving significant economic and social challenges. Her wealth of knowledge, solid expertise, and passion for the ecosystem will contribute to Flutterwave’s unmatched role as an enabler for tech startups across Nigeria.

The two join other executives like Amanda Ortega as Head of Compliance, US. She was a former regulator with the State of Wyoming’s Division of Banking. The company also made recent hires focused on compliance, risk and regulatory.
