WhatsApp has been busy rolling out new features to enhance user experience in 2025. These updates include camera effects, customizable selfie stickers, easier sharing of sticker packs, and quicker message reactions.

Camera Effects

Building on the success of video call effects introduced last year, WhatsApp now offers 30 different backgrounds, filters, and effects for photos and videos sent in chats. This expansion lets users personalize their media, making conversations more engaging and visually appealing.

Customizable Selfie Stickers

Users can now create personalized stickers from their selfies. The image is instantly converted into a sticker by tapping the “Create Sticker” option and taking a selfie. This feature adds a unique touch to chats, enabling more expressive communication. Currently, this functionality is available on Android devices, with an iOS release expected soon.

Easier Sharing of Sticker Packs

Sharing sticker packs with friends has become more straightforward. If a user finds a sticker pack they like, they can easily share it directly within their chats. This improvement simplifies the process of spreading enjoyable stickers among contacts, enhancing the shared experience on the platform.

Quicker Message Reactions

Users can double-tap a message to react with their most frequently used emojis, streamlining interactions and making conversations more dynamic. This feature mirrors similar functionalities found in other messaging platforms, aiming to make expressing emotions faster and more intuitive.

These updates are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve usability and fun for its global user base. The company has expressed enthusiasm about introducing these features and plans to continue enhancing the platform throughout the year, ensuring private and secure messaging for everyone.
