TechWorld, a UK’s annual international technology event held 16-17 November at London’s ExCel, and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the trade association for the $190 billion consumer electronics industry in the USA, have launched a competition to find the next big thing at the TechWorld show. TechWorld2011 is now on its 6th successive year. The competition, in partnership with the CEA, is open to all exhibitors at TechWorld and features three prizes – all of which include exhibition space in the Eureka Park TechZone at 2012 International CES, which will run 10-13 January in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Last year’s event saw more than 450 international investors from 50 countries meet with UK delegates and exhibitors from technology, science and research and development. In excess of 3000 one-to-one meetings were conducted and 45% of UK business attendees expected to generate revenue from international markets as a direct result of the event. This year the event is focused on helping UK technology and science entrepreneurs increase overseas trade, access critical research and development and identify new markets for growth.

The 2012 International CES event is a real showcase for any business looking to break into the consumer electronics sector with an innovative new product. The Eureka Park TechZone is an area dedicated to the latest innovations and is the perfect platform to launch a new technology to potential investors, partners, retailers and analysts.
2012 International CES is expected to span 1.7 million net square feet of exhibit space, with more than 2,700 exhibitors from 140 countries. More than 140,000 attendees are anticipated, with some 30,000 from outside of the U.S., to experience in excess of 20,000 product launches across cutting edge technology categories such as; 3D, mobile DTV, tablets, apps, connected TVs embedded internet, green technology and more.
The competition includes a first prize winner and two runner-up prizes. The overall winner will receive a 10ft x 10ft booth at the Eureka Park TechZone at 2012 International CES, hotel accommodation for two representatives in Las Vegas from 10-13 January and a top table space at CESUnveiled@London on 17 November. Two runner-ups will receive the same exhibition booth at the show and the opportunity to network with 140,000 industry professionals and 5,000 worldwide media and analysts.
To be in with a chance of winning one of these fantastic prizes, TechWorld exhibitors have to answer this question – in 100 words or less, “what innovative technology would you showcase at 2012 International CES?” Answers should be sent to [email protected] by Friday 11 November, six companies will be shortlisted and announced at TechWorld. The shortlisted companies will then be invited to join the exclusive TechWorld Networking Evening on Wednesday 16 November, at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf, London, where the winners will be announced.
