We are soon going to be seeing more Lumias in Nairobi, and the rest of East Africa. The device, and Lumia 820 are ready for the market and we are soon going to be seeing some Windows phone 8 goodness in our hands. Lumia 920 is one of the best Windows phone devices and Nokia’s flagship device.
Nokia Lumia 920 was announced together with Lumia 820 in September but became available in the market later on after Microsoft launched Windows 8. During launch, Microsoft launched their newest mobile OS with 3 mobile device manufacturers, these being Nokia, Samsung and HTC. Nokia had the Lumia 820 which has exchangeable covers/battery and the fixed polycarbonate Lumia 920. HTC on the other hand had HTC 8x and HTC 8s, the latter two which looked like their version of 820 and 920. Samsung was also there with the ATIV S, which was by then their only Windows phone 8 device.
Lumia 920 is a micro-SIM driven device with a 4.5 inch TFT screen and 768 x 1280 pixels resolution. The screen is Corning Gorilla glass. Memory is 1GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. Camera is 8MP with Pureview technology, AF, Carl Zeiss optics, OIS and dual LED flash. The front camera is a 1.3MP shooter. The processor is a 1GHz Dual-core Snapdragon Krait MSM8960, Adreno225 GPU.
The usual things from Microsoft like 7GB SkyDrive storage and Nokia specific apps come on board. The battery for this beauty has 2000mAh li-Ion and gives 10 hours on 3G. Pricing for this could be anywhere between 40-45k around 55k (Kenya shillings).
