Nokia announced the Lumia 620 towards the end of last year, 2012, actually on the 5th of December, it left a good taste in the mouths of Windows 8 enthusiasts who would otherwise not spend the sum that the devices up the food chain ala the Lumia 920 and 820 would demand. Priced at just $50 above the Windows 7.5 driven Lumia 510, this device actually created a need to wait for users who know the difference between Windows 7.5/7.8 and Windows 8. Particularly in my home country Kenya, there is more to it that resizeable tiles.
Multi-thread SMS and file browsing were the two main breakthroughs Lumia 620 comes to address, and in the device I got I can confirm it does work. When Nokia will avail it in the Kenyan market has not yet been confirmed, although I could bet we are going to see it soon, probably before Valentines. Lumia 620 is built like the 820, with the multiple colour options for the stiff back cover that can be interchanged for 7 colours, namely lime green, orange, magenta, yellow, cyan, white and black.
The front remains all black, with the unmistakeable touch sensitive controls, home back and search. For now, just savour the images I just took of the device showing the front, software inside, front and rear camera with LED flash, removable back cover, battery, microSD and microSIM slot, unique 3.5mm jack slot that is embedded onto the rigid back cover and the general beauty of the device. It has a 3.8 inch screen with WVGA resolution, see the other specs below.
