
It performed well in the benchmarks, plus it came out of the box running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, something that is not common among peers of that price point. Plus Intel did not want to ruin the pure Android feel by doing unnecessary skinning of the operating system, it takes very many tries to get that right, Samsung and HTC have got their fair share of muck before they finally got it right, right now as a reference design device who’s success will define their future approach, they needed minimal excesses.
