OPPO Reno11 Series

OPPO Reno11 5G Series

OPPO Reno11 series is finally available in the country.

This is a mid-ranger that is easily the flagship for the company, at least in the Kenyan market where Reno is more prominent than the pricier smartphones above it from OPPO.

The new mid-range series follows up on the Reno10 and Reno8 and brings with it new features worth talking about.

Design Refinements

The biggest design change is the new lens alignment for the main cameras housed in the distinctive pill-shaped camera island which we’ll talk more about below.

OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G Cameras

Reno11 come with a glass back that comes in a matte finish for easy handling and keeping the phone smudge-free. Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2 protects the 6.7-inch OLED screen.

.

Speaking of the display, the Reno11 series has a 10-bit screen with 1080p resolution and 120hz refresh rate and 240hz touch sampling rate. It gets to 1000 nits peak brightness, supports HDR10+ content and 100%+ sRGB/DCI-P3 wide colour gamut.

You can stream Netflix content in Full HD (L1 Widevine) and HDR (high dynamic range).

OPPO Reno11 Screen

It comes in new colours including Rock Grey and Wave Green featuring a fractal mosaic design that sparkles and shifts when light reflects on it.

OPPO Reno11 Back Design

Like its predecessors, you get an infra-red blaster, an optical under-display fingerprint reader, dual microphones and dual stereo speakers.

Excellent Software Update Commitment

OPPO smartphones are among the few devices in the country that get timely software upgrades. They recently updated the Reno10 and Reno8 to Android 14 and ColorOS 14. The new software from OPPO and Google already ships with the Reno11 series straight out of the box and the latest smartphone will be supported with 3 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

ColorOS 14 brings with it neat AI-powered features like Smart Touch, Smart Image Matting and new productivity features like the new File Dock.

Other ColorOS 14 features include Trinity Engine comprised of ROM (read only memory), CPU and ROM Vitalization which ensures fast and smooth performance.

The Reno11 series is slated to get generative AI features such as the OPPO AI Eraser found in the flagship Find X7 Ultra. These AI tools will also be available for everyone worldwide.

Powerful Performance

Reno11 series comes with the same processor from last year – the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pro switches things up – getting the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor instead of the Snapdragon 778G chipset of the Reno10 Pro.

OPPO Reno11 Performance

You also get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. ColorOS 14 adds 8GB of virtual RAM. There’s support for expandable storage via the microSD card slot.

Reno11 series comes with a superconducting graphite material to aid with efficient cooling of the phone after heavy multitasking and gaming.

Next Level Cameras

The primary lenses get a new arrangement as OPPO gives the series a 50MP main that now comes with OIS. You’ll still get the usual 32MP portrait telephoto with 2X optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide.

OPPO Reno11 Main Cameras

Both share the same 32MP selfie camera which can now shoot 4K video just like the rear cameras.

OPPO Reno11 also comes with three new features that improve its portrait photography including the Portrait Expert Engine, High-quality Camera Sensor and HyperTone Imaging Engine and the Portrait Telephoto. You can read about our deep dive on these three features here.

Superfast Charging

There’s a 5000mAh battery inside the base Reno11 that supports 67W fast wired PD 3.0 charging while the Pro gets a 4600mAh battery with 80W fast charging. You get the chargers packed inside the box.

Topping it up to 100% will need 45 minutes. If you’re in a rush, you can juice it up to 40% in under 15 minutes and 75% in half an hour.

OPPO’s Battery Health Engine extends the phone’s recharge cycle life to over 1600 and the Reno11 will still be able to hold 80% of its charge which is really impressive.

Pricing And Availability Details

The OPPO Reno11 series is available across all official OPPO stores countrywide, the OPPO website and e-commerce platforms Jumia and Kilimall.
