OPPO Reno11 5G Series

OPPO Reno11 series was launched in the country and is the company’s latest midrange smartphone. As a Reno device, this is also a camera smartphone.

Reno11 has a few upgrades up its sleeves especially in the photography department.

The primary camera setup includes a 50MP main that now comes with OIS. You’ll still get the usual 32MP portrait telephoto with 2X optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide.

Reno11 also has a 32MP selfie camera which can now shoot 4K video just like the rear cameras.

Camera modes to play with include Night to Pro, Dual Video, slo-mo and timelapse.

OPPO Reno11 also comes with three new features that improve its portrait photography:

OPPO Portrait Expert Engine

OPPO partnered with professional portrait photographers from around the world to fine-tune the portrait shooting experience and bring the OPPO Portrait Expert Engine that ships with the Reno11 series.

Reno11 combines both Portrait mode and AI Portrait Retouching to capture a variety of skin tones, expressions, and treasured moments.

Reno11 series lets you take portrait mode shots using two optical viewpoints – a wide 24mm focal length so multiple subjects shine across the scene, or a 2x, 47mm portrait to focus attention on a single subject.

High-quality Camera Sensor and HyperTone Imaging Engine.

The Reno11 series uses the 32MP IMX709 SONY sensor co-engineered by OPPO. The sensor size is relatively larger coming in at 1/2.74-inch which brings better image quality than its rivals.

As mentioned above, you get a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 32MP portrait telephoto with 2X optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide.

Another arsenal is the OPPO HyperTone Imaging Engine which significantly boosts image clarity, dynamic range, and colour richness. It merges multiple uncompressed images in the RAW domain and applies AI-powered denoise and demosaics processing.

OPPO HyperTone Imaging Engine technology was first available in the book-style foldable Find N3 and the flagship Find X6 Pro and has now trickled down to the midrange Reno 11 Pro.

Portrait Telephoto

Portrait telephoto cameras have become popular in smartphones and OPPO uses a 32MP portrait telephoto for the Reno11.

Telephoto cameras create a unique perspective when taking a portrait photo in two ways – one, it allows users get closer to a subject without needing to invade their personal space and two, you get less perspective distortion and a greater sense of intimacy.

You also get spatial compression where a portrait lens can appear to “compress” or shrink the subject to a background, making the background look larger and closer, and creating a more intentional-looking photo.

OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G Cameras

OPPO uses a 47mm telephoto(2x) which is closer to a 50mm telephoto camera – something a lot of portrait photographers usually prefer to get the best portrait shots as they’re distortion-free.

Reno11 uses 2X optical zoom to give it a perfect focal length for taking portraits. OPPO’s algorithms additionally produce bokeh effects comparable to those found in DSLRs, plus you can even adjust the amount of bokeh desired for your photos after the shoot.

Another option is the wide 24mm focal length that allows to you shoot multiple subjects across the scene.

Other Features

Reno11 has wa 10-bit 6.7″ AMOLED curved screen sporting a 120Hz refresh rate, 950 nits brightness, HDR10+ support and 100%+ sRGB/DCI-P3 wide colour gamut.

The two come with other features such as an IR blaster, an optical under-display fingerprint reader, a glass back design with Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2 protection for the display, dual microphones and dual stereo speakers.

Reno11 has a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage with UFS 2.2 for the base Reno11 and UFS 3.1 for the Pro version.

Reno11 Pro come with a more powerful MediaTek 8200 processor compared to the Snapdragon 778G chipset found in the Reno10 Pro. You also get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

It comes with the latest software from Google and OPPO – Android 14 and ColorOS 14 respectively.

ColorOS come with features such as File Dock, Smart Touch, Smart Image Matting, LinkBoost, Trinity Engine, ROM, CPU and ROM Vitalization which ensures fast and smooth performance.
