Nokia today confirmed that the October 22nd event will be happening in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.Quite recently, Nokia shared a teaser that had a desert background that gave hints that the next event could be somewhere in the Middle East. My assumptions was that it would be in UAE, Dubai since the same week would have the GITEX Technology week that usually has so many product announcements taking place.
Well, today they confirm the country in an actual press invite, but not the same town. Guess they want to stay away from the hubub of activity that is GITEX and have an exclusive event where they will get all the attention.
Nokia is expected to announce the 6 inch Windows phablet, the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 which is supposedly a Windows 8.1 RT tablet. The previous teaser read read Innovation Reinvented” while this one has more than that. It has “At Nokia, we belive in technology that brings people closer together. Please join us in Abu Dhabi as we write a new chapter in reinventinf innovation.”
Could they be bringing huge imaging into the tablet, or are just showing that the Windows phone can now go phablet? Either way, we will be around, some 166 kilometers away and might drop in to cover whatever Nokia will announce.
