Yeah you heard that one right: BBM on your Windows desktop could see the light of day pretty soon. As you can see from the photo above, Blackberry has been testing the feature and it was recently demoed at Blackberry Jam Asia.

What will it do? Your Blackberry’s contents will be mirrored on a desktop environment over USB or Wi-Fi. Of course common desktop operations like file transfer (photos, files etc) will also be supported. So far it is said to be working on Windows and will be available on other platforms too.

Chat and messaging apps on the desktop are very popular and with Blackberry’s BBM being rolled out to other platforms like Android and iOS soon, it will surely be a very welcome addition to the desktop where Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts (previously GTalk) and many other regional IM and chat clients currently dominate.
