The Huawei Ascend Mate has been around for almost a year now. Debuting at CES 2013 back in January, the device shocked many with its 6.1 inch display which was to be the first in a flood of several six inchers from the likes of Sony, Samsung and even Nokia. With another January almost here, its about time we started hearing a lot about the successor to this device and if what Huawei News is saying is anything to go by then Ascend Mate 2 could be the name of that device and it will have some updated internals too.
A 1080p display (the current Ascend Mate has 720p), 2 GB of RAM and 1.6 GHz quad core processor are some of the specs the device is expected to pack. As expected, Huawei will be sticking with its custom skin, Emotion, with version 2 that will surely be on top of KitKat being the dominant face of the device. Since the leaked photos are supposedly from a device in some stage of development, it is running Android 4.2.2.
While this is merely just another leak/rumour, I hope Huawei will have something special, a standout unique feature or something like that since just a bigger display does not cut it.
