CES 2014 is almost here and with that comes a whole flood of leaks, rumours and counter-rumours about new devices we expect to show up in Vegas. One of those as of now is the Asus Padfone X which just showed up in Antutu benchmarks.
Fresh from releasing the Asus Padfone mini just last week, the Taiwanese company is onto the next one. Its Padfone lineup has not been such a hit with the 10 inch tablet that usually comes with the phone being such a turn off a scenario that no one anticipated to play out since this was a niche product at the time of its launch and it was expected to blow away people’s imaginations. With a recent change of tact, Asus will be focusing differently on the two main market segments i.e. high end and low end with each getting their own instead of one device to rule them all. Those devices will be the Asus Padfone mini for the budget conscious and a high specced Padfone like the Padfone Infinity. Will the Padfone X be the first true exhibition of that? With a possible CES launch rumoured, we can only hope that will be the case.
As can be seen from the above screen grab thanks to liliputing.com and Antutu these are the specs the device is expected to pack:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.266 GHz with an Adreno 300 graphics set
- A 1920 x 1200 pixel display
- Android 4.4 KitKat
- 5 megapixel main camera
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB storage
