Google now allows Glass users to take photos by winking. Glass Explorer Edition could only access this feature through a third-party app before the XE12 update. SMS, chats and video calls are also available on the device through Hangouts and users can also make simple uploads to Youtube from their head. The update introduces the option to set screen lock whenever you take off the Glass.

Developers can now build and run Glassware directly on Glass using the newly released Glass Development Kit (GDK). The GDK enables richer Glassware complete with interactive features and access to some of the hardware features. Google’s advice to Glassware developers on the GDK is to update their apps for XE12.
