Microsoft did not shy away from telling us clearly what the main focus of its new Lumia 530 really was: the budget smartphone market. The one that has for long been dominated by the Lumia 520 and whose grip it was slowly surrendering in key markets like India and Brazil to Motorola’s able Moto E. In other markets where the Moto E is not available, other similarly priced devices are available and these alongside the Moto E are the Lumia 530’s key competitors.
Microsoft took a swipe at all of them in a new video posted yesterday. Focused on features and specifications of the Lumia 530 like its quad-core Snapdragon SoC, internal memory and its ability to support a 128 GB microSD card and running the very latest version of Windows Phone (8.1), the video compares Microsoft’s latest to the Motorola Moto E, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style, the HTC Desire 210, the Alcatel One Touch Fire, the Lenovo A516, the ZTE Blade Q, the LG Optimus L3 and L5 and the Huawei Ascend Y530.
Bold piece of marketing, too bad it is untrue. The motorola I would compare this phone to is the Moto-E and even that one kicks the lumia 530 in the teeth, don’t take my word for it though compare them http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6376&idPhone2=6523
What Microsoft did was compare the Lumia 530’s strengths, without looking at where it gets beat. If we were to look at all the devices holistically it would be beaten in so many ways by almost all.
