We are just over a month to this year’s IFA in Berlin and it’s about time we got some little teasing from the various companies that will be unveiling various devices in Germany in early September.

While we may not likely see the usual Samsung spectacle that has dominated every IFA since 2011, we won’t have a shortage of surprises and big launches. Top on the list is Chinese smartphone maker Huawei.

Huawei is widely expected to announce a couple of devices in Berlin and as per the media invite below, last year’s gorgeous Ascend Mate 7 may be in line for a refresh since it will be a year old come September.

The Mate 8, seen above in an alleged early render, is expected to have the following specifications:

  • A 6 inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display
  • 20.7 MP main camera; 8 MP selfie camera
  • 3 or 4 GB RAM; 32 or 64 GB internal storage
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Dual-SIM

As you may have noted from the above-listed specifications, there are two rumoured variants of the upcoming Mate 8: one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage and another with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.
