A day after not showing up at Huawei’s main event where the P9 was unveiled, the P9 Lite, was leaked in all its glory by sources in Russia who had laid their hands on the device. That hinted at an imminent launch in that country and elsewhere in Europe.
That is already happening. The device is already listed on the website of a Romanian retailer and priced at around $300 further lending credence to earlier reports that the P9 Lite, like the P8 Lite last year, would be a budget member of the larger P9 family. The quoted price is for the 2 GB memory option since the P9 Lite is said to exist in two variants: one with 2 GB RAM and another with 3 GB RAM.
The Huawei P9 Lite packs a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display, a Kirin 650 processor from Huawei’s HiSilicon subsidiary, 16 GB onboard storage (expandable up to 128 GB), a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash + a 5-megapixel selfie camera, a fingerprint scanner at the back as well, a 3,000mAh battery sealed unit, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 4G/LTE and dual-SIM slots.
