Visa and VC Firm Nest to hold a 4-Day FinTech Innovation Bootcamp

Visa and venture capital firm nest have announced a partnership in launching a 4-day FinTech boot camp designed at helping entrepreneurs shape the future of financial technology in the African continent.  Nest will host the boot camp in Nairobi as part of its regular #WhatsNext Series, which will also see 7 FinTech start-ups and 3 freelance software developer teams will participate in the four-day boot camp in Nairobi.

There will be 8 Visa mentors taking part in the boot camp, who will select 2 start-ups and 1 freelance software developer team, who will have the opportunity to integrate with Visa APIs, access tools and Nest’s resources to make an impact in the FinTech world.The boot camp will also offer educational content designed to benefit early-stage FinTech companies with a vision to improve financial systems for Africans. Solutions in the space of financial literacy and inclusion, peer-to-peer and merchant payment will feature more prominently in the boot camp.

The #WhatsNext FinTech Series  will feature a FinTech innovation showcase, a panel on the future of cards and digital payments. At the series, a survey of financial technology landscape in Kenya will also be revealed. Applications close at midnight on October 9th, 2016. The four-day programme commences on Friday, 21st October 2016 in Nairobi, and concludes with a Demo Day, scheduled for 24th October.
