When the world was busy admiring (and criticizing) the HTC U Ultra and the U Play, Huawei decided to refresh the 2015 Huawei P8 by releasing an upgraded 2017 version. The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) looks nothing like its predecessor but instead takes up inspiration from the Honor 8 (the Honor branding is owned by Huawei). The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) has a glass back and includes a fingerprint scanner on the back as well. The P8 Lite (2017) may have a name from the past but inside, it carries specs from today:

Display5.2" FHD IPS (1920*1080)
ProcessorKirin 655
RAM3GB
Storage16GB Expandable
Camera16MP Main / 8MP Selfie
Battery3000mAh non-removable
SoftwareAndroid 7.0 Nougat

The device is set to be launched at the end of January for around $250. This look to me like Huawei really loved the Honor 8 (so did everyone) they decided to take it to other markets under the Huawei branding – which is stronger compared to the Honor brand, outside of the US.
