Huawei Y7 2019

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 was launched earlier today for the Kenyan market. The device packs mid-range and high end features all under an affordable price.

Here’s what it packs

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 has a 6.26” Dewdrop display that is similar to the one found in the Mate 20. (link). The dewdrop notch is symmetrical and less intrusive when compare to the regular notches and and the display having a screen to body ratio of 86.7%, this will give consumers enough screen size to enjoy multimedia content.



The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset that is backed by 3GB of Ram and 32GB GB of on-board storage expandable via microSD to 512GB. This will be enough to store all your documents,pictures, audio, videos and apps.

In an upgrade from last year’s Y7 Prime, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 comes with a massive 4000 mAh battery to get you an all day performance and if you’re a light user, upto to 2 days of battery life. There is also intelligent power saving modes for when you want to push that battery life and you are nowhere near a place where you can charge.

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 packs dual 13MP and 2MP rear AI powered cameras and a 16MP selfie shooter. The AI mode now has even more added scenes to recognize to get you to shoot that perfect shot whether it’s at night, HDR mode, aperture mode, food to selfies.

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and EMUI 8.2 that comes with pretty neat customization features to get the most out of your phone.

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 has a durable ceramic like cover in a metallic chassis. The phone comes in a variety of colors to give users option of either getting the Aurora blue, the midnight black or the coral red. The coral red version would be make for a nice valentine gift to your loved one.

Speaking during the launch, Mr Steve Li, Huawei’s Head of Mobile East Africa said the phone targets the social media savvy youth who consume a lot of multimedia content especially from video-centric platforms.

Pricing and Availability

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 will be retailing at Ksh 17,999 online and in and retail stores. Huawei has even partnered with Lipa Later to allow you to purchase the phone in terms of installments that start firm Ksh 2600 monthly for 12 months although you could adjust that amount depending on the duration you prefer paying within from.

Pre-orders start today till the 7th of February and if you pre-order, you get a gift hamper from Huawei. The pre-order also gets you into a lucky draw where winners get to go home with multiple gifts including a Huawei Brand 2 and a 40” TV screen.
