tecno SPARK 3Transsions’s hold in the Kenyan market and largely in emerging regions has taken advantage of a population that is constantly in need of budget devices. It is how the Chinese manufacturer has managed to make its series devices household names locally. Today’s star from one of the company’s products is the Tecno SPARK 3, which essentially succeeds the SPARK 2 from 2018.

The SPARK 3 has all the improvements a person could ask for in a budget device: its screen is now notched similar to the Hot 7 series that were announced the other day; it has dual cameras and the display has grown by 2-inches to 6.2”.

This time around, the SPARK 3 comes in two variants; an ordinary one without 4G LTE, 2GB/16GB memory combination, as well as a Pro version with 4G, 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

For the moment, only the Pro version is available in online shops such as Jumia and authorized dealers at KES 12499. That is a very good deal considering the device has all the bells and whistles of a budget-conscious customer’s needs. For instance, 32GB is a large room for hoarding media files, and we have reached a time when big memory options were reserved for more expensive devices is no longer the case.

Early purchasers will be glad to note that Tecno will accompany their shiny toys with a limited edition gift hamper from Tecno branded shops and of course, Jumia. We have seen this move from other manufacturers too who include a couple of goodies for their sales.

Tecno says that the basic SPARK 3 will be available in shops from April 25. No pricing details have been given, but will definitely cost less than KES 12,000, so be on the lookout if you want a cheaper option.

You can check the device’s specifications on this post.
