The U.S government has accorded Huawei another 90-day reprieve. The temporary license the Chinese tech giant was given in May expired today and it was expected that it would be extended. Early today in an interview with Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said that they are delaying the restrictions imposed on Huawei for another 90 days.

This comes as a relief for Huawei. Donald Trump had this weekend tweeted that the US was doing very well with China and that they are talking.

This announcement is expected to ease up the ongoing trade negotiations.

The extended time period is to help some U.S telecom companies reliant on Huawei find other alternative partners.

The new deadline will now be November 19th. Wilbur added that 46 more Huawei subsidiaries have been included in the entity list.

Huawei is yet to comment on this recent announcement.
