OPPO, the giant Chinese smartphone maker is set to launch their new smartphone, the Reno 3 to the Kenyan market quite soon.

The Reno 3 was announced last year in December in China and has some pretty saucy specs for an upper midrange.

It has a 6.4 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a respectable 8GB of RAM and 128GB of the fast UFS 2.1 storage, which means that this phone will feel quite fast when you use it. It runs on the Mediatek Helio 90 chipset and has Android 10 out of the box.

The Reno 3 also has an interesting bunch of cameras. The selfie camera is a crazy 44MP unit with a f/2.4 aperture. The main cameras include the main 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 13MP 2x telephoto camera and a 2MP black and white camera. The main cameras combine to give you 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom which can be quite handy in some cases.

This phone can shoot 4K video at 30fps, which is nice to see and also has gyroscope assisted electronic image stabilized footage, which makes your videos less shaky.

The Reno 3 has a USB C type connector that will impress some people and an optical under-the-display fingerprint sensor. It also has a big battery (4025mAh) which can be changed quickly by its 30W VOOC charging brick that can charge 50% of the battery in 30 minutes.

The phone will come to the Kenyan market on April 15th, which is just shy of two weeks from now. We still don’t know its local price but you bet OPPO will share that info during its launch.
