OPPO has officially unveiled the OPPO F17 series of its midrange lineup. OPPO F17 and OPPO F17 Pro join the company’s midrange offerings including the OPPO Reno 3, OPPO Reno 4, OPPO A92 and OPPO A53.
The OPPO F17 series succeeds the OPPO F15 series from late last year.
OPPO F17 series comes with a dual-matte glossy finish with vertical separation. OPPO has included vegan leather finishes similar to what the OPPO Find X2 series had.
Colour options range from Magic Blue, Matte Black, and Metallic White.
In terms of optics, we get quad rear setup aligned in a square bump for both.
OPPO F17 and OPPO F177 Pro feature 6.4″ AMOLED screens with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution(2400 by 1080 pixels).
For biometrics, we get optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
Both phones come running on Android 10 and ColorOS 7.2 straight out of the box.
OPPO F17 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor coupled with Qualcomm’s Adreno 610 GPU.
Base models of the OPPO F17 start with a configuration of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
For selfies, you get a 16MP front-facing camera house din the waterdrop notch.
The rear cameras include a 16MP wide sensor(1/3.06″ and f/2.2), 8MP ultra-wide(1/4.0″ f/2.2) with 119-degree field of view, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor.
OPPO F17 Pro goes the MediaTek way and will be powered by a Helio P95 chip which also powers the OPPO Reno 3 Pro.
OPPO F17 Pro will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
OPPO F17 Pro features dual punch-hole selfie cameras which include a 16MP and 2MP depth sensor.
The primary cameras on the OPPO F17 Pro include a 48MP main sensor(1/2” and f/1.8 lens), 8MP ultra-wide(1/4.0″ f/2.2) with 119-degree field of view, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor just like its smaller sibling.
Both phones come with 4000mAh battery, Type-C ports and will charge with OPPO’s 30W VOOC fast charging.
There are a headphone jack and support for external microSD cards.
OPPO Enco W51 wireless earphones
OPPO also unveiled the Enco W51, the company’s true wireless earphones. Unlike the OPPO Enco W31, theses ones now support active noise cancellation (ANC).
OPPO included several noise-reduction features such as OPPO’s ‘‘2+2’ noise reduction solution” which in essence combines dual-core noise reduction chip with dual ANC technology.
Enco W51 now charge wirelessly and can be topped off in the case to offer 24 hours of playtime on a single charge.
Pricing
OPPO F17 Pro will begin selling from Ksh 33,900. OPPO Enco W51 will begin selling from Ksh 7,400.
