Safaricom has announced a service maintenance upgrade today that will affect a number of its services.
The service upgrade is scheduled to be done tonight from 11pm and will end tomorrow morning at 6am.
The 7 hour maintenance upgrade will affect a lot of their services. This includes:
- Safaricom Cloud
- Lipa na MPESA
- M-Shwari
- KCB-MPESA
- Safaricom App
- MPESA Daraja AIO
- Mobile Banking
- International Money Transfer
- VAS services
- Safaricom Online Support on Twitter and Facebook.
However, the company says that all other MPESA services will be available. This include sending money, depositing, withdrawal. They also say services like calling, data and SMS will remain available as usual.
These prompt notices are important so that you can prepare yourself in the event that you had planned to use the above services. If you had planned to use Lipa na MPESA, M-Shwari, mobile banking, KCB MPESA, international money transfer or using the safaricom app, you have until the scheduled maintenance time to use the service.
The constant maintenance of services has become the norm this year and at one time, it was at least once a week. They have been trying to improve their systems over time. As of July 2020, they had done over 3 continuous upgrades for their mobile money product.
