For the last couple of weeks, Safaricom has been trying to improve the offerings of M-PESA with system maintenance and upgrades. These enhancements are always conducted in the night when the majority of customers are sleeping to reduce cases of complaints.
Now, the same maintenance is going to take place this night (Monday 6th July from 2359 to Tuesday 7th July 0500). This means that all M-PESA services will not be accessible.
STATEMENT
For more than 13 years, M-PESA has continued to transform millions of lives in Kenya, connecting you to new opportunities and different possibilities every day. To support this continued transformation, we regularly undertake maintenance of our systems from time to time.
In this regard, our M-PESA services shall be undergoing planned maintenance on the morning of Thursday 25th June 2020, between 0000 hrs and 0500 hrs. During the maintenance, all M-PESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable.
The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least of inconvenience to our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused and thank you for your continued support.
This is perhaps the third time the carrier has been performing similar activities for the mobile money product. The operator does not specify the details of the upgrade, but we hope the product will be better in the coming days with minimal to no interruptions.
