itel Kenya Announces Three TVs With Inbuilt Satellite Decoders

itel has been teasing a brand reboot for the better part of the week.

The new strategy was announced yesterday, and was broadcasted live on KTN, NTV and Facebook.

The show was marked by the launch of new product categories. itel says they are ‘user-friendly, have customized features at a budget-friendly price.’

Right off the bat, we were aware that itel was going to announce some home entertainment products. It is a strategy that appears to have been implemented by all brands under Transsion Holdings: TECNO is doing the same thing, and so is Infinix.

The show saw the announcement of many itel TVs: S321 and S431.

Based on the naming scheme, the S321 is a 32” TV, whereas the S431 is a 43” panel.

The TVs have an i-cast feature that allow user to wirelessly project their smartphone screen to the television without being connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

The TVs have an inbuilt DVB-T2/S2 decoder that uses digital satellites to provides access to a number of TV transmissions.

itel has a smaller 24” TV as well name D243. This one will be shipped with a tampered glass to protect it from shocks or accidental falls.

It is possible these are not smart TVs because if they were, itel would have mentioned it. smart TVs are a thing now especially for folks who want to enjoy their offerings such as streaming apps.

Pricing details have also not been revealed.

itel wireless earbuds

Phone makers are alos making some form of wireless audio streaming earphones, and itel is the latest manufacturer to do so.

The ITW-16 wireless earbuds are quipped Bluetooth 5.0 and pop-up pairing function (opening the case lid to pair with devices).

itel says the buds can stream audio up to 18 hours in between charges with the case.

The band has a colour display, and besides telling you about time, it can be paired to your smartphone for notification alerts. It is also an activity tracker (it can monitor sleep patterns).

itel says it has an IP67 certification against water splashes and sweat.

Its battery can last up to 20 days before needing a charge.

These new products will be available at Kilimall and X-Park this month.
