By now, we know that Samsung will not release the successor to the already-loved A73. The A73 has received a lot of praise from users because it offers some near-flagship specs and performance for half the price of the devices such as the S22 from 2022. Instead, Samsung plans to release the S23 FE sometime in H2 to cover for the A74. This makes a lot of sense because the A73, for instance, isn’t far off from the S21 FE in terms of overall performance – although the S21 FE has an upper hand in the camera department, and it runs a flagship chipset from 2021. Closing the gap between the two devices will likely appeal to customers who probably want more from the A7- series, but couldn’t get that – and while they can buy an S series phone, those tend to be a little pricey, which is why the FE lineup exists in the first place.
Now, for now, we know that the A53 will surely be updated with the soon-to-be-launched A54. We have rounded up some leaked specs from the web, and it sure looks like an attractive package that apes the design language of the S23 and S23+. This is probably the redesign and overhaul of the A series that we have heard about for a while now.
According to leaks, the Galaxy A54, alongside the A34 will be available in various colours. Rumours reveal that the Galaxy A54 will come equipped with a 6.4-inch OLED screen featuring 120Hz refresh rate, as well as an Exynos 1380 SoC (no Qualcomm), and up to 8GB/256GB of memory.
On the back of the device, there will be a 50MP f/1.8 main camera along with a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. The front-facing camera will feature a 32MP sensor.
The phone will feature a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W charging.
Additional leaks show that the A54 will have an IP67 certification for protection against dust and water, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. Based on this information, it seems that the A54 will only have a few small improvements compared to the A53 released last year, with the exception of the chipset.
It is expected that the chipset will represent a significant improvement over its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy A34 will be powered by a Dimensity 1080 chip, have up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and will come with a 6.6″ OLED screen featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera system on the back of the phone will include a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a depth sensor. For selfies, the front-facing camera will have a 13MP f/2.2 lens.
Similar to the Galaxy A54, the A34 will have a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support. Both phones are expected to run on OneUI 5.0 with Android 13, but it’s possible that they will launch with the newer OneUI 5.1.
