Mobile World Congress 2023 has awarded the iPhone 14 Pro as the best smartphone in their Global Mobile Awards(GLOMO) for this year.
The Apple flagship launched late last year scooped the award that according to GSMA “combines outstanding performance, innovation and leadership as determined through assessment of smartphones on the market during the period January 2022 to December 2022, by world-leading independent analysts, journalists and influencers.”
iPhone 14 Pro ships with the new A16 Bionic chip, a 48MP main camera, new always-on-displays(OLED 120Hz) that shows information widgets and the much anticipated pill-shaped cutout that Apple calls Dynamic Island for live activity widgets, alerts and notifications.
The cutouts host the Face ID components in the pill shape one while the circular one has the 12MP front-facing camera.
The new cinematic mode now supports 4K shooting at 24fps and 30fps.
It’s no surprise as creators love the video recording and photography capabilities of the iPhone 14 Pro.
The phone even won MKBHD’s annual smartphone awards last year as the device with the best overall camera system.
In 2023’s GloMo Awards, the iPhone 14 Pro defeated the Google Pixel 7 Pro, Nothing Phone(1), the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
In 2022’s GloMo Awards, the iPhone 13 Pro Max got the award for the best smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra took the 2021 award while the OnePlus 7T Pro went home with the award in 2020.
